I'm tired of people saying either one is better so you chose Battlefield 3 - more realistic and concentrates more on realistic combat situations MW3 - more cinematic and concentrates on storyline and multiplayer.
It seems like no one here can read as well as I could. You want a thorough answer? You got it.
Now, you are comparing two games that have not even been released yet. You should focus more on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2. And here is where your decision over the two games you described will be made easy.
Everything about CoD MW2 is fine and all. The mini missions, the sweet yet short and simple campaign, Co-Op, an online multiplayer, and so on. But it doesn't quite deliver as much gameplay depth or realism as BfBc2.
Why? You know a couple of reasons why, but let me give you a heads-up anyway in what BfBc2 has that COD does not have: 1.) Realism. Put simply, the sounds of guns blazing, the dust and sand blinding you, and explosions.
Everything about it is more in-tune to reality than CoD ever was able to comprehend. 2.) Destruction. Unlike CoD (where you can hide in buildings and camp there forever until the end of a match), every building you see can be destroyed.
And not just in one way either. Throw grenades, set up C4 inside or on the corners of buildings, tanks, air-strikes, rocket launchers, and so on. You can run... but you can't hide forever in this game.
3.) Classes and perks. There are a few overpowered perks and classes in CoD MW2. Some like the "Tactical Nuke" which can instantly win the game for you if you get a 25 kill streak.
The perks system is totally unbalanced, and everyone can create a custom class that IS actually the best and cannot be beaten as easily as any other build. But BfBc2... look into the classes and perks of that and you'll see that NOTHING is superior to another. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and there is more strategy involved this way.
4.) Vehicles. You cannot use any sort of vehicle by any natural means in CoD, but you can in Bad Company 2. There are 15 different vehicles you can use.
There are Land, Air and Sea vehicles. So you are not limited to only fighting on land. Helicopters, Ships, you name it.
And the good thing is... even if they are obviously bigger and pack more wallop than just a guy fighting on foot, that doesn't exactly make it better. The weapons arsenal for on-foot fighting is plenty powerful enough to take down vehicles in one shot if you are skilled enough to pull it off. 5.) Maps.
The maps are HUGE. I guess it's mostly because of vehicles being put into the game, but that won't hamper your fun fighting on foot. CoD maps are like puppies to elephants in terms of size and detail.
Some complain that they can't get to the fight fast enough after they respawn. Most CoD players just wanna Run and Gun like Rambo into other players in less than 3 seconds after they respawn from death, running into bullets like idiots. What they don't realize is that in Battlefield, you can CHOOSE where to respawn, and those respawn points are right near your teammates.
If you die, you can choose to spawn right next to any teammate, and maybe even help them at the last second. 6.) Teamwork. Sure, CoD has some team modes, but they are not exactly team friendly.
Like I said before, players tend to Run and Gun like Rambo and completely disregard other teammates, only thinking that they are good for is distractions so that he/she can get the kill. That's not going to work here in BfBc2. If you want to actually win the fight, you will be rewarded more points by utilizing teamwork.
Example... the Recon Class can throw a type of grenade that detects any enemy teams nearby on the mini map, and it is shared with your teammates. He can also "click" on an enemy with a Sniper Rifle, and put a red icon over their head to show teammates exactly where they are. Does CoD have this?
Hell no. 7.) Hosting rooms. You wanna kick those mean, trolling, t-bagging, a$$hole players out of your room, right?
Well, even if you do, they can just keep on coming back as much as they want to, disrupting the fun for you and everyone else. Well, BfBc2's multiplayer does not have this issue. Once you kick they guy you want kicked, he will NEVER be able to come back.
That's all I gotta say. So, if you are really new to First Person Shooters as you say, then I strongly suggest you get the following games in the order I describe (you don't have to get ALL of them or all at once either): Bioshock The Orange Box Left 4 Dead And then.. get Battlefield Bad Company 2. But all in all, it's up to you.
So, I pretty much made it clear on which game is better. And more or less... the sequels will be similar, if not better. The only reason Modern Warfare 2 got so many sales is because of fanboys crying " OMG OMG!
It's the sequel to Modern Warfare! It's that good just because it's new!" They did the same thing with Black Ops and that was the worst CoD game of all time.
Stupid fanboys, blinded by the fact that they probably never played any other genre in their gaming life, or even played gaming systems before the 360 and PS3.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
